Battery is a direct replacement for the Makita [Ni-Cd] battery, model 1422. They also replace Makita's 1433 [NI-MH] battery. Either way you are getting a stronger battery because of the 2.6 AMP-Hour rating. The battery will work in any Makita 14.4V Tool that takes a "POD" style battery. However if you have the older [Ni-Cd] charger then you will need the DC1411 model charger (or higher DC1413, DC1414, DC1422, DC1801, DC1804) to charge this high-powered battery.
